EFEITO DO TREINAMENTO RESISTIDO NO TRANSTORNO DO SONO EM INDIVÍDUOS COM PARKINSON

This review study aimed to investigate the effects of resistance training (RT) on sleep disorders in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD). The search was conducted in scientific databases such as SciELO, MEDLINE/PubMed, LILACS, and BIREME, considering publications published between 2015 and 2025. After initial screening, 10 studies met the necessary inclusion criteria. The results indicated that resistance training has a significant positive effect on sleep quality, reducing insomnia, daytime disruption, and improving sleep-wake cycle regulation. In addition to the effects on sleep, additional benefits were added to motor function, muscle strength, balance, cognitive-emotional performance, and functional autonomy, factors that directly impact the quality of life of these individuals. Despite the promising results, there is a continued need for further research, adopting standardized and robust protocols, larger sample sizes, and long-term follow-up. Thus, resistance training shows a promising non-pharmacological therapeutic strategy, capable of complementing the traditional drug treatment of Parkinson's Disease and offering more comprehensive care to affected individuals.
