Nutrition in early childhood is crucial for growth, development, and disease prevention. During this period, eating habits tend to consolidate throughout life, making them important for future health. Public daycares play a fundamental role in this process, as many children have a significant portion of their daily meals there. Proper complementary feeding prioritizes variety, colors, flavors, and textures, to include healthy eating habits and reduce rejection of new foods. The PNAE (National School Feeding Program) ensures a large part of children's nutritional needs, reinforcing the right to healthy food. The Nutritionist is very important for menu planning, supervision of eating practices, and nutritional education. Food in daycare centers constitutes not only care assistance but also a strategy for promoting health and preventing nutritional deficiencies and chronic diseases. throughout life
